Community & Conduct

What is the "NJC Standard"?

We have a zero-tolerance policy for aggression, rudeness to staff, or "selective" play (cheating). If you ruin the vibe for others, you’ll get a "tap on the shoulder" and be asked to leave. We’re here for the champions who keep the community great.

How do I get priority on new releases?

Allocations are driven by attendance. If you want priority on high-demand drops (One Piece, special MTG sets, etc.), you need to be an active player. We reward the people who fill the seats and help us grow our standing with distributors.


Shopping at NJC

Is your full inventory listed online?

No. By design, we keep a significant portion of our stock—especially high-demand singles and rare items—as over-the-counter only.

Why don't you list everything online?

We want to reward the people who make the effort to visit us in person. We don't want our best stock sold out 24/7 to people who never set foot in the store at the expense of our local community who support the space daily. If you want the best gear, come see us at the counter.

Why should I buy from the store instead of a big-box online retailer?

NJC provides a high-end "third space" that is free for you to use. Every pack or accessory you buy here keeps the lights on, the tables clean, and the community alive. When you buy here, you're investing in the place where you actually play.


Events & Ticketing

Do I need a ticket to play?

For our Weekly Events (Standard, Modern Tuesdays, VGC Wednesdays), just turn up! We are rarely at capacity and we love seeing new faces. For Major & Special Events (Pre-Releases, Skirmishes, Win-a-Box), tickets are mandatory and available via the website.

Do I have to stay for the whole event?

Arguably, no—you’re free to leave—but we much prefer everyone to prepare for events to be a couple of hours. To maintain event integrity, leaving early may result in the loss of benefits, such as extra prizing, participation promos, or league points.


Grading Services

What grading services do you offer?

We offer a complete "Counter-to-Slab" service:

  • Primary & Preferred: PCG (Premier Card Grading). This is our primary offering and our preferred partner for local, high-quality grading.
  • International: PSA Submissions. Available now for those chasing the US market.
  • Coming Soon: BGS (Beckett). We are currently finalizing this service.

Why is there an "up-charge" on my PSA card?

International graders like PSA calculate final fees based on the card’s value after it is graded. If a card returns as a high-value "banger," they will "up-charge" the fee to the appropriate value tier. This cost is passed on to the customer before the card is released.
